War agreements are **** anyway. Why do you NEED to declare at a given time? Start fighting at a given time and whoever gets the button can choose what to do with it and when to use it.
War declare and surrender should be picked by either of the kingdoms themselves rather than pre-agreed.
Should pick setups that works both ways and not only benefit a quick mintime war and then complain that others do not want to mintime war you.

There are a few kingdoms that I feel play the game the right way. They come across a new kingdom or monarch and they take the time to teach them how to play the game, and help them to understand the unwritten rules a little better. Sure, it would be far easier to just take advantage of them, steal their sciences and honor, or PK multiple provinces just to get a war win, but they know the key to this games survival is people playing it. When people are constantly getting beat down, bullied, or taken advantage of and never learn how to stop it, then they feel that this game is full of jerks they will never be able to compete with and so they quit. Net result is the game suffers. However when a player runs into a Monarch that is forgiving of his mistakes, and friendly and friendly or helpful, then they not only keep playing, but they try to recruit more friends and family to play the game. Net result is the game gets better.
We have run into both sides this age. One kingdom wanted to war us, and told us they were newbies like us and it would be a fair war. I told them I would ask my kingdom but before I could get back to them they had already grown 2k acres bigger than us without me noticing. They proceeded to smoke us in war, killed 3 of our provinces, laughed at us and called us newbs, and got 3 of my guys to quit the game. Then I ran into Spartans. First he taught me how I messed up negotiating with that shady kingdom by not putting in an acre cap or no PK term(I thought it was just a given since no one else had done it since I came back to game). Then he offered us a sweet deal for war, no PK, no AW or Massacre, no deep chains, AND after war was over we help shave the provinces that grew to big. Plus, he would give us the advice we needed to get better as a kingdom. This was a SWEET deal that I immediately agreed to, then took it back to my kingdom. Now, unfortunately after dealing with that lying kingdom that killed off three of our guys, my kingdom wanted no part of Spartans so I had to back out of the war at the last minute. Spartans was forgiving and understanding and their Monarch is still helping me to this day. It is kingdoms like the Spartans that keep me playing the game, and are helping me get better at it. My kingdom is plenty active, we just lack knowledge and experience, and we will gain that by dealing with kingdoms like Spartans.
Now, I know their are hardcore kingdoms out there that use deception to gain the advantage before war. You cannot fight fair, you have to have EVERYTHING in your favor in order for you to push the button. Spartans is not one of those kingdoms, but of course they are also not dumb enough to fall for your deceptive tricks. You see, when you run off all the "newbs" you love to bully, take advantage of and laugh at in the forums, soon you will only be left with hardcore players like yourself. Then you will have to make the hard choice. 1) Learn to play straight up and with honor, or 2) Find another game where you and your buddies can bully and laugh at newbs. Here's hoping you pick #2 so this game can get better again.
It's not greed. If it was greed we would be taking acres not razing them. We will not take 1 acre of land while they are in war or out of war. This is not about greed at all. It's about deal breaking. If someone ever deal breaks us I would hope we would have someone to step in and help us.
All for one and one for Chrystal!!
Uncle Ed I am glad your experience with Spartans was a good one. Not all kingdoms are that lucky.
There is no doubt that Heaven/Bart knows how to play the game and could and sometimes is an asset to the game.
The problem is that he wants to win no matter the cost. Everyone wants to win. But there is a line you shouldn't cross.
Your kingdom was a sure win for him, it's easy to be nice in a situation like that. If then after getting a war win and honor you also get rewarded with extra acres that you can stick on the provinces you need it on, that's even better. If in this case it was a win/win for both kingdoms that is awesome.
If then however he goes and offers a fake war to a kingdom asking them to give him a loss on their record without actually fighting or losing anything just to get other less skilled kingdoms to war them, then that is not so awesome.
When he words agreements purposely so that he can at any time get out of them, that is not so awesome.
When he is in a tight or losing war and gets outside help, that is not so awesome.
And it isn't just "elite" kingdoms he played dirty, it's any kingdom that doesn't give him what he wants when he wants it.
Goodwitch, there are a couple of things I need to correct you on. First of all, my kingdom is not a sure win for anyone. When we fight a kingdom on an equal basis, we usually win which is why we are ranked high every age. So in other words, I suck at negotiating, and that usually costs us wars. Most kingdoms want to wait 2-3 days for hostilities to begin, and use that time to grow and train and have their friends come in and wave us and all sorts of BS that usually cost us the war. Spartans offered us war in 12 hours, and offered us the button as long as we declared within a 4 hour period. They were the same size as us, and agreed not to grow. Personally, I think we could have beat them, but my kingdom was still smarting from the dirty war with a dirty kingdom and a dirty monarch. Second off, I did not give him what he wanted, and he is still cool with me. When I cancelled war at the last minute I seriously expected to get waved by them, but he didn't do it. Instead, he scolded me, told me I sucked at negotiations, and that I should be more of a dictator with my kingdom.
All I am saying, is we have dealt with you "Elite" kingdoms for a few ages now. Most of you have no honor. You go in and wave a kingdom, raping them of honor and science points KNOWING they are too small and weak to fight back. When someone agrees to war you, you will pull every dirty trick in the book to get an advantage before war even starts, then pull every dirty trick in the book to win the war. This is why I really have no desire to be an "Elite" kingdom, and will be content with being somewhere between ghetto and elite. We will always try to take on an Elite kingdom, and sometimes we will even win a war against them, but we definitely do not want to partake in all the dishonorable BS you guys play. It just does not seem fun to me at all.
Like I said, I am happy there are kingdoms like Spartans, Divinity, Seagulls and all the others that have cool monarchs willing to point out our weaknesses and teach us how to get stronger. I consider Bart one of the "good guys" and since they are so few of them, I felt it important for me to come on and defend him. Hopefully some day my kingdom will be strong enough to help defend him against you dishonorable bottomfeeders in this game.
By the community ofcourse he means the top eliete kds. Havent you noticed any time someone new pipes in to the conversation the same people who have been whining in this threat the whole time shoot them down with the whole "oh so you side with bad guys" lol that guy who said "stop whining and move on" was the most correct guy in the whole post. I should have done that a while a go and he was replied to with more qq. Lol oh and inb4 "I thought that last post would be your last" "look at this noob still contributing" "leave this thread already".
Uncle ed if that is how you see this then more power to you buddy. Dont let any of those top kd or eliete players put you down or say you are just in some stupid ghetto. I appreciate your contribution to the conversation.

You actually just explained why there are kingdoms standing up. Everyone knows Divinity plays straight. That's where Bart messed up, he tried to first corrupt Divinity into getting into a fake war with him and then when that didn't work he played them dirty.
No one is saying you have to dislike Spartans. Just know there are more sides to every story.
and again :) we are far from an elite kingdom. And we don't aim to be. This is not about "the top vs the bottom".
