First of all I want to thank my kingdom members for putting up the incredible activity that needs to make this strategy work. To win a war where besides a superiour setup and a little wpa advantage we had all the disadvantages possible. 42 gives as an argument that lack of preperation and demoralisation costed them the war. I think the lack of preperation was not the case. Sparta didn't have time to pump as much either, because we were in a desperate struggle to catch up in land with 42, a thing that only partially worked. After the warwin bonus, bulking like 8 big attackers in the jester conflict and dumping the pool, 42 was significantly bigger and both sides had 6 days to stock gc. The only preperation advantage sparta had was that we were on pump draft and fully populated the time the conflict between jesters and 42 ended. I also noted that on both sides there were several provinces that didn't utilised the 6 days properly being heavily underpumped.
42 utilised their size while preparing for war and that resulted in a significant militairy advantage, peon advantage and gc advantage at the moment the conflict started. because the topend was so in favour of 42 (2 biggest provs where sparta's banks, next 10 biggest provinces were all 42.), sparta had no other option then to raze 42's large attackers and hope we wouldnt get declared upon straight away. This situation dragged on for a couple of waves and I believe with this hostile strategy sparta laid the foundation for the warwin. If 42 would have engaged in the conflict straight after sparta's first wave, they could have split off their 10 big provinces from the rest of sparta by hitting the nw down. By failing to do so and by the biggest collective starvation since Joseph Stalin, the big defences on 42's 10 biggest provinces became to crumble allowing it to fall within the grip of sparta's core provinces. This is where 42 really lost the war and the conflict was pretty much decided after 40 hours.
It is sad to see so much hatred against sparta, because as a kingdom we pulled of a great achievement that is indeed a little overshadowed by 42's lack of performance. Most of the hatred against sparta is based upon a general dislike for Bart within the utopia community. I have no idea what kind of things he did in the past, because this is my first age in sparta. However I am convinced that this age our conscience is clean. In the kingdom of sparta lives a general disbelieve that any of our LS had anything to do with Jesters dealbreak. And personally I share that opinion. At the time when our CF with 42 nearly expired we were preparing to war Jesters as an escape, because 42 denied a CF extention. After 42´s farmwar and several unfortunate conflicts on our side, we were in no condition to give any meaningfull resistence to 42. While preparing for that war the dealbreak suddenly happened from Jesters side. Did Bart know about the dealbreak? Possibly, but as far as I know not. But I am convinced he didnt pursuade Jesters to do the dealbreak, because we were in a very good position to take a lot of acres from Jesters. We would have benefitted a lot more from having the Jester war and then b2b 6 days after the conflict if we would have been victorious. We would have been in the same situation as 42 was now when we noticed them IMO a fair conflict. Do I support a dealbreak? Not at all and I feel seriously bad for 42 that it happened. However that war couldnt have turned out better for them since they had the best topend core on the server due to that war. I also personally think the way 42 does diplo, caused us to not agree with a CF extention. They force terms upon a kingdom and behaves very arrogant, dominant and superiour against other kingdoms. And tbh it felt good that for once we could repay with an even coin. It would have been a different story if the DB led to a vulture, but as we ve all seen the numbers favoured 42 when the conflict began. It sucks that because of lack of morale the war ended so clearly and quickly, but moral is the only factor a kd has influence on themselves.
I hope my open and honest view regarding this war and it's road towards it gets appreciated and helps to build a more positive general opinion about our kingdom. I really feel all the aquisations build on nothing were out of line. We play fair and everyone in our kingdom puts in a big effort to be able to even compete with the established order.
