It certainly is a variable for t/ms, the new science. I'm markedly lower in scientists to my kingdom mates that've posted their count but as an attacker the differences don't seem glaring.

I've been tested rather thoroughly in war. Pushed down to 103 acres, but I'm currently in the 13-1400 range and dropping ops on similarly sized attackers with my 6 scientists in channeling.

Not that I'm disagreeing with the assessment but that running an attacker is an apparent safe haven for sporadic science levels. Though I'm a sage it remains a fact that I'm not warrior, tac or cleric. I move comfortably in these circles.

My only complaint is we need a new gold dump. There's nothing to do with all this gold. People dont want to use it, everyone's blocking aid and I'm too big for the kd as it is. At least i used to be able to dump it into science. It's the first age I've maintained such a high tb all age.

Put gold to war! You need some pretty big piles of cash to really war effectively, if you are in the habit of initiating.

I have really tried to like this. But even though I haven't been abducted and from what I can tell have more science than most, I still believe that this science change was not an improvement. Basically it just took science out of the picture, no one really cares about science anymore (except that one dude displaying his science as a sig lol ).
activity has dropped between wars. and not just in our kingdom, other kingdoms have reported the same.
I really hope we can scratch this and go to the old system or something different.
it did not lead to more wars, it did not bring the tiers closer together, it did not cut down on pump times

Though it DID help with early wars, allowing them to be prepared for quicker, and allowing them to be finished quicker. Usually start of age wars are slow grinds because noone is pumped, and T/M's had a hard time being effective, so it just was an acre trading battle. Now with new sci, thieves can max their crime sci early, mages can max channeling, attackers can max military sci, so everyone feels that they are strong (ish) at position they are trying to be strong at.

I think it did help keep the tiers closer together, as it is much harder for #1 land kd to pump scientists and have that as much more of an advantage against people. Stocked gc will always be a big advantage that #1 kd will have, but it still leaves opportunities for #2 and #3 land kd's to war and maybe have the winner propel past, or equal to the #1 and have at least a somewhat close war out of it.

It gives Warring tier kingdoms a chance after a couple consecutive war wins to at least have a shot to do well in the #5-#15 land size warring tier. (Though the diplo environment up there is still something that a lower tier warring kingdom needs to get accustomed to, but that will always be the case).

If putting gc into science was all that was keeping your players logging in you have more issues than science.

Actually it's the warring. And there should be scientists reward for wars. I suggested in my thread 3 scientists for both sides + 10 for the winner.

It makes for much tougther competition when you can't just increase endlesly, and fully maxed is great, never had this high income as an attacker before althougth some categories did go over max when chained.

I also think it is good for the game to have a mecanic not determined by size, a professor at 500 acres gives you just as much % boost as one at 5000, althougth admittedly the numeric effect is greater for the bigger province. It makes sense to abduct when small, before you needed to grow before you did learns, or the effect would be cut to nothing when dubbeling your size.

For warwins if anything I belive it better to go with a boost to leveling and/or spawnrate rather than award a number of scientists. Maybe with the winning kd getting all scientists promoted to professors, leveling could take half the time in war, possible with a small increase in spawn rate as wars progress science.
Furthermore I think Carthage should be destroyed and Dryads brought back to the game

it's week 11 and my science is almost maxed,,, i did not abduct, matter of fact I was abducted a couple of times. I did not have labs. I didn't do a damn thing to deserve the science I have.

A decent TM doesn't have a problem running ops in early wars. Didn't then and doesn't now.

285,310 acres first in land....96,305 acres tenth in land....not exactly close

most warring kingdom has 6 wars which is not higher than in previous ages if I recall correctly

I stated my opinion on the new science system and so did you. The difference is that I not once assumed you don't know how to play or rather accused you of being ignorant to the mechanics involved. Not once did I say anything to invalidate your opinion. And I won't do so now. I am glad you enjoy the new science, I however do not.

I have 51 scientists :D. Didn't abduct and haven't been successfully abducted. I have maxed pop, crime and channeling but it's hard to play a t/m without ME and BE...

Goodwitch, that's where your missing it tho , it's not just getting a scientist and letting them sit in place all age . It's about being able to move them at the correct time for different bonuses and actions . My mages work the crap out of them in war and move them constantly for what they are doing at that moment . I still don't think you have that down because it makes a good Mage even better this age. That's the part people keep saying . It gives you a lot more freedom and even more options this If you let them sit and don't move them any then yes it's boring

Look Thunder I'll put this as nicely as I can. I have been playing longer than you , much longer. Just because I am casually playing now does not mean that that was always the case. It also doesn't mean that I forgot how to play.
Of course I move science around if needed. Obviously I am not complaining about the science effect I have. But just because I have an advantage doesn't mean I have to like the system. I play games for the challenge not to be given an advantage that I did nothing for.

How would you feel if the game gave random players x-amount extra gc income each tik? this is the same exact thing
