Unfortunately there were not enough submissions for the contest, so we will allow submissions to be entered with no deadline at the moment. I will adjust the original post to reflect this new information.

As far as stored data is concerned, we have had some discussions regarding this and may provide historical data as well to make that data fetching/storage easier. I should clarify that we are not opposed to historical data being provided in the target finders. The minimum requirements were set mainly so that there was a baseline to work from, any ideas you may come up with that use the data being provided is fair game.

It should also be noted, in case you all don't already know, the data field provided in the dump for online status is set to false and will not actually show online status.

I have a question regarding "web scraping". Has this been 100% stopped by now or have you granted certain people permission to still do this?

You also mention the "activity tracking". Has this been option been removed from all TF?

I would strongly recommend that the admins at least post up the links that have been provided for the competition so far, even if the competition does not start yet.

Can you be more clear what you're looking for? From my understanding you want something that can be used in-game and that consumes the json client-side. Which, since no access control headers are send, means it will be hosted in-game. In that case a tf that relies on a third party server seems pretty much a no-go. (Of course it will work in a practical sense, but from a long term perspective i don't think depending on a third party for in-game features is the way to provide a reliable game). This also means there are quite a few layout restrictions since utopia can be themed.

While providing historic data would be pretty useful (but not really needed) for server side tools, for the purpose of a target-finder that works only client-side in-game it might not be practical. Too much data processing/loading client-side will slow things down.

Let me be blunt and rephrase: why is it still tracked in munk's tools?! (It's like a DADT policy that seemed in place for external target-finders, which were supposedly fed data by all of us players laboriously copy/pasting data to them)
