The ages ABS didn't win, their friends usually won. So in fact, Absalom won those ages too. Playing a game you can't win because ppl s**k up to Absalom to get that priiiiized 7th place isn't very fun in the long run.

Right. Because when my friends win wars I win too *rolls eyes*. Having your friends win is not winning. Also the kds that have beaten abs lately are most certainly not their friends.

EliteBG Yes we havent denied that playing in the top acres demands something else. But the demand is not skill or knowledge about utopia itself. Its devotion in time, constantly (not just for warring which is what we usually do) and leader who really enjoy politics and want to spend alot of time doing it with other kd's.
If the kd who spent alot of activity and took alot of time from RL that interferred with holidays/work/faimily etc now wants a chill period of 1 week between wars, what happens then? Well you fall behind. And every bit you fall behind makes it harder up until where its nearly impossible. The cause for that is not that were not skilled players, or that we dont "Want" to war them. We just dont want to spend the time required for us to do it.
Ultimately people play for fun. And challenge can be found on different levels. The challenge up here is more time-consuming and LESS rewarding than the challenge of warring "real warring kd's" in the so-called ghettos. Frankly palem i think your whole "get better, get more active"-attitude is a bad flame at the community and its players in general.
Coming from the mid-size but hard-warring "ghettos" i have nothing but respect for most kd's we war.
By a personal observation of the flaming, elitism and general forum-noob-bashing done by people. Most of them seem to come from the "top" kd's...
Absalom has ruled the server because they have done what it takes to be the Best and Top alliance in the game for years. I think they are for the most part some of the better kingdoms in the game, a few exceptions do apply. But one vs one any of the other top kds have a good chance of kicking their ass in war or beating them at their own game of nw whoring/exploring/dicing. We all know there have been several lone kds who are better than Absalom and who have beat them to the top of the charts when they nw charted. Absalom always runs for the nw and land charts which means avoiding wars and making naps and cfs and all kinds of other boring diplomacy.
Where I think Absalom has the strongest hand is their core alliance is very strong and they help each other unfairly rape other kingdoms especially if one of their kingdoms is losing acres or on the verge of getting into a war they can't win. Like many have said there is no anti-abs alliance among the other top kds playing the game. They are instead all morons like Simians who talk **** about abs being gay, but never come together with other kds to take them down.
Absalom has in the past Absalom had half the server helping them in alliance wars also. I was involved in two alliance wars with Absalom and was once on their side and once their enemy. First I was in the KLA vs Abs alliance war in like the mid 20 age range. My kingdom was not officially Abs, but we helped them because we were nuthuggers. That is how Absalom has won every alliance war they were outnumbered in with the core alliance kds. They have always recruited twice as many outside kds as the other alliance they war due to the fact the Absalom is the "Best" and had nuthuggers lined up.
Second alliance war I was in with them was the CSB vs Absalom war. I was in CSB and as usual so many more outside nuthuggers helped Absalom over CSB that it was only a matter of time that we lost.
BUT now the game has lost most of it's players and is slowly dieing and not really coming back. NOW is the time for that anti-abs alliance to form and rise up and take them down. They don't have as many nuthuggers available now as they once did. The only problem is the morons not joining each other in a common goal to take them down. Get 20 of the top 50 kingdoms who hate Absalom and then make a decision together to nw whore next age and when you find where those Absalom gays are hiding then ass rape them and hit into there wars and wave them directly after hostiles and directly oow. We all know Absalom is calling you top warring kds noobs, so next age NW chart and get into an alliance to rape Absalom at least for one age.
You could have just summed that up that absalom won every alliance war with diplomacy.
Ofc they will sweaten the deal where necesary with long term naps and whatnot, but with abs you allways know what youe are dealing with and you allways know who you are dealing with. As much as ppl might dislike their twisting words and sometimes absurd logic at least there is consistency there.
Every AA you could posibly pool together simply has too many idiots in it who made too many enemies who will side with abs if it comes down to it.
This is poor reasoning. Attacking a kd to try and further yourself towards the crown is one thing. Actively sabotaging another kd with no actual, positive goal in mind for yourself only leads to making very serious enemies with very legitimate complaints about yourself. There's playing competitively and then there's playing like an asshole and I don't believe that's a line that is necessary to cross.Quote:

As its been pointed out being big isn’t hard when only a few kds care about it u need to do better than LAST place to show how easy it is. In terms of tactics i learn more from harder foes. Again i emphasize that up top is not more skill and better war-coordination... infact from what ive seen its worse. But compensated by extreme levels of politics and very high activity.
IF you like warring it SUCKS to be at the top... wars are harder to get (unless u wanna get farmed) and even so activity outside war must be higher. So more demands and for me (since i enjoy wars) its less rewarding.

You wanted to grow to get some "big" wars, yet you CF'ed all the abs kd and then tell me that it's hard to get wars. Yes, I know your CFs are prolly expired by now. My point is that if you wanted to war Rage, or Sanc, or HoH, or whoever, you could have easily done so in week 2.
"My way" doesn't involve CF'ing kds that you want to war and then later complaining that you can't find wars. My way says you war them.
One interesting fact to throw out guys, since new mechanics there have not been many CFS/NAPS of late.
Aside from allies, Rage has no cfs with anyone..just some food for thought

Being smaller/larger OOP makes no difference to who's going to win the age. Pretty sure my kd was in #1 honor and ww's for 75% of the last age untill we had 5 deletions from the "humble" utopia lords, with no reasons as to why. Funny thing is we are more low key this age and have the exact same people, and nothing has happened. Be careful unknown kd's for if you do too well you might have provs go up in flames.

Palem what you mean is that we could have waved rage 2 weeks into the game. Yes that is true. Couldve warred? Nothing is guaranteed... perhaps they wanted to grow / pump / whatever. And the mere fact that you have a short window to war ONE kd. Depending on the outcome of the politics around it or if you get a "bad" war (the one we got with pewpew) then you are falling behind and have to wait until next age to get a chance to war the kd's you wish to war...
As a kd who didnt go top to compete for crowns (we competed for war-wins even before ww-chart was introduced) i personally do no think its worth waiting until next age to "perhaps" if we play our diplo cards right get a war in the beginning.
For the exact same reasons TFC play WE play. And that is fun. I do not think a vast majority of the players in utopia arent having fun. But basically your post is saying that the majority ARENT having fun unless they go competetive. Some thing that prot so clearly is trying to explain to you that you are NOT doing.
that is true, the soldiers did help with the desertions, but every dwarf core I fought then had the problem of still being very open every time they had to send out (as they naturally preserved their elites first) and things just kept getting worse for them. I found it very simple to force them into a lower tier NW group and let them stagnate there being outgained by orcs that had been chained. Four chained orcs easily controlled 8 chained dwarves.Quote:

I see GotCha's point although there are not a lot of news reporters around and the ones that are tend to only focus on top wars. Its not their fault though if that's all they're interested in. They do not really get paid or anything it is all voluntary.
