When mods are running multis despite it being absolutely obviously against the rules you're surprised that they'd lie?

The university kingdoms are designed so that more knowledgeable players can help newer players learn how to play the game. I can't speak to the specific circumstances of the players involved, but we (at least internally) acknowledged that this meant we would allow some players to multi so that they could in fact spend time teaching new players without having to give up what drives them to play in the first place -- often their existing kingdoms. We are currently re-evaluating this policy to ensure that it is appropriate, and welcome feedback.
The IP block remains in place, so the provinces cannot interact with each other or provinces that the other one interacts with, and we monitor the accounts to make sure that they are staying separate. The reason that multis are banned in the first place is to prevent people from being able to gain an advantage by using provinces in conjunction with each other, such as to gather information on kingdoms that oppose the other account. We work to ensure that that is not the case with the small list of exceptions for things like the university kingdoms or 1:1.

^^ I agree with this message.
As I stated before...
As far as the dispensation the Pope does it all the time.

I understand the concept of what was trying to be accomplished, and am not totally against it, but you(the game) should not be bending/breaking their own rules that were set, for the retention of 1 new player who might not even stay around. What needs to happen is to try and gain the retention of the existing players. As the way this game is going forward, is dramatically losing its veteran players. There are numerous things that can be done(or attempted), but will not say in this thread as this is the "allowing multi" thread and not the "fix this dying game" thread. The Utopia University kingdoms are great in theory and on paper, but in reality, nothing but a s**t show and doing nothing for the game, except, as proven(allowing multi's and trying to get away with it).
I'll admit that multis suck, but it's not my pet peeve.
My pet peeve(s) ~
Kingdoms with crappy names
Kingdoms with crappy themes
Players who don't follow theme or ambiance
Pony themed kingdoms that don't have a Wildfire province
=o a wild Zauper appears
Do you even multi? Then, my dear friends, how can you know whether a thing is good or bad of which you are wholly ignorant?
tldr multi is ok now?
There's some paperwork.

Considered intercontinental sitting, this spacious option offers a luxury experience for the elite visionary.
(Soft brush roll on the snare, please)
Bathed in marble clad randoms, you control history as a cool pool sharp breaking kingdoms in a velvet smooth cause and effect melange.
(A little mixolydian on the fretless bass, thank you)
Relax in opulent resources offering at minimum twice the meter and multi-drive(registered) troop ~ operation(also registered) acceleration.
...that special someone is you.

can't help to think that someone are literally begging for a permaban in this thread, well guess that sort your addiction problem. Only then there is Fortnite, World of Warcraft and Minecraft, seriously no one should be addicted to Minecraft so don't do that to yourself.
The practice would have been fine if you had been open about it from the start and it had been clearly communicated to the community.
Such a "multi" should be clearly marked on kd pages and in news, at least for kingdoms who have received hostile interactions from either of their kingdoms. And obviously it should never happen without permission from their monarch.
Perhaps the IP ban in their case shouldn't be province specific but kingdom specific, ie either province can't interact with any kingdom that the other kingdom has interacted with over a specific amount of time(48 hours?)?
I suppose muliting with kingdom restrictions in the way Elldallan suggested would make it reasonable; I don't think its enough tho and think it shouldn't be allowed.
Honestly they need to just stick with the simple rule. No multi's allowed. Plain and simple. Play 1 account and 1 account only. Keep it simple and standardized across the board to eliminate "favoritisim". If new players don't like the rules, then they don't have to play. Plain and simple.
Yeah same, I don't have any details either.
Yeah I'm very sceptical about it as well given that it's come out after the fact. This should have been something to put in change notes and discussed before implementing it.
I don't exactly know how these University Kingdoms work, but teaching new players is generally a good idea and you can't trust the community to do it the regular way, because 99%(hyperbole, but you get the idea) of the time if somebody lands in a kd they're razekilled before they can say Hello, and you can't really expect people to give up their existing place in the game just so they can teach new players. Do it that way and you'd get 0 volunteers. So assuming that it's done openly for all to see, so that if there's anything suspicious behaviour people can call it out then I could sort reconcile with the idea.
If there's any secrecy at all surrounding this it will only grow rancid and fester into "ERMAHGERD muh favouritism".
If ever multi's will be allowed then more veterans (of being a multi) will be interested to come back more beginners will learn, more accounts will be made, more kingdoms, more alliances, there will be an enormous increase in players (multi's) and eventually there's a need to revive the battlefields server
Sounds fun, isn't it?
Xlogging would bring back hundreds of players
intra kingdom xlogging / not really exlogging but free sitting and unlimited please.
Figure anyone who was xlogging would do it anyway, but I could be wrong.
In any game it's called power creep. Despite ones intentions, most xloggers would fall into the quanitative pragmatists who tend to stumble in the wake of players focused on qualitative aspects. With a few exceptions, the competitive meta amongst other alleged cheaters would distract from actual game play. As a personality type, they don't contribute to a thriving base but suffocate the ecosystem. Observe the chonological charts and you'll find the whales died off as quickly as the krill. In other words, the old casual kingdoms remain intact but the rest have gone with the wind.

David has been protecting Allanon for a while now...who knows their history but Allanon and his cronies appear to get exceptionally favourable treatment
I'm not saying they're evil, just morally inept. Most people don't notice all the trash around the city till they witness the wanton fastfood carton toss from the car in front of them.
People like to say this or that isn't the reason bad things happen, but the true measure is the character of the individual behind whatever flavor of destruction you choose. In this case we may be addressing very intelligent, successful people who are also morally inept. Everybody knows an overly competitive uncle.
A system of morality which is based on relative emotional values is a mere illusion, a thoroughly vulgar conception which has nothing sound in it and nothing true.
There is little morality in Utopia. ppl throw cardboard bigmac cartons all over the place. condoms beer bottles etc
Monarchs PK and wave for RL days with impunity, Then the same ppl wonder why the game is not bigger. A modicum of abuse is necessary to satiate the wolves in a KD but the wise Monarch knows when enough is enough.
Morally inept? Is that another way of saying morally infantile?
@thejudge: If I owned this game Strat and Zulu would be co-monarchs with the morally bankrupt Steel as Steward
That would be a dysfunctional but fun KD.
There is morality and then morallity, been participating in a game event in London this week and was baffeled by how petty some people where like when I saw the champion of the stratego events, a 60 plus guy by the looks of it start arguing loudly with a 10 year old kid, or when a grandmaster was complaining about that he did not get to play on board 1 in the second round of blitz chess and same guy kind of forced the arbiter to announce that you move and press the clock with the same hand because he saw a beginner kid that he did not even play not do that.
Being competitive is fine and all, but when you get to the point where you are rude or ruining the experience of people who just want to have fun playing games you should have stayed at home, atleast most of the people arround has been good sport, even the ones who lost more than they won. Unfortunately there really has been to few participants in the events I took part in to seperate the kids and adults so the kids could have their seperate section.
There is also molarity but perhaps that is a discussion for another day.
aparently more things is going on with those university kingdoms.
The leader of Baruran has chosen to join Utopia University UEC - WAR (3:6). All in Baruran gather their possessions and depart this kingdom forever.
checked the kingdom and although the message indicates that the province was invited and thus should be in protection now that was not what happened, I take a look at the kingdom he ended up in like 1 or 2 hours later and the province is not green, worse he was allowed to join this kingdom while they are at war without having to start in protection.
On the plus side, the province count shrinkage seems to have stagnated with the legalization of multis. Ol' David finally made a worthwhile implementation!
kingdom page + curiosity of where the province ended up
