I think sheister makes some good points about the purposes of punishment. The law often does more than merely put a person back to the way they were before they were harmed. If you get punched in the face, you can receive damages for battery but the offender will probably suffer some criminal sanction as well, because the government wants to deter from doing it again and send a message to society that it's the wrong thing to do. It's not just about the tangibles.

I think it's also valuable to consider something that prot said back in the original thread flog started:

I find it quite amusing that the people that are using the real life's law as an analogy are the same people that are saying that the "victims" gets to decide who's guilty and what kind of punishment other people deserve. You guys should get to know how the justice system works. PS I suggest you start using more modern references than the Islamic Law about stealers.

Also the agreed deal was not 1.5x, it was ~3. AND it was agreed by BB.

It's just an analogy, like you say bro. All analogies are imperfect. There's no government to provide justice in this instance. People gotta take it upon themselves. There's bound to be a disagreement regarding what punishment is deserved. And it's not just BB who are trying to send a message anyways - lots of people took their side.

Sadly enough I kind of agree, this is essentially a mob lynch or a witch hunt. The doofuses who are engaging in this don't see it because they are not on the receiving end, if they were they would qq 5million times more than what we've seen on the boards.

No reason to play victim here.
Things are looking bad for abs atm but that was not the case all the time, and I dont remember any qq coming from our side while abs was doing good.

Absalom has not admitted to ALL accusations, continues to point the finger, continues insulting those they have wronged. They are losing support from allies who are in the process of being destroyed, losing individuals from those kingdoms who are caught in the crossfire of Absalom cheating and will not stand to be punished for the crimes of Absalom.

Only once they have fully admitted and apologized for ALL accusations and begged for forgiveness, they can be fully admonished and atoned.

Well you see, Emeriti is being punished for the actions of abs, despite continuously explaining that they are not abs* for the sole reason that most of people in the kd were previously associated with the alliance.

Now if Emeriti has any foresight (and let's be honest, no one knows how to hold a grudge like Abs), they'll be sure to take note of exactly is on the roster of the 5 kingdoms helping BB and when this all this drama goes away and we're left with plain old Utopia, Emeriti has literally zero reason to show mercy to any kingdom that hosts a single player in any of those 6 kingdoms. A kd with 4 old WSK's is going for the honor crown? Time for some dead princes.

Things of that nature are going to provide for some very funny forums, imo.

I'm not aware of any multies in Emeriti. Are you, or are you just making up more false accusations and lies?

I've also never heard of benM multiing in Rage & Freedom. Where did you hear of this, I guess you know more than me there? I know the freedom cow once tricked rage by lieing and saying he wasn't playing elsewhere to get into Rage as a spy for Freedom and then used that information to help freedom **** play rage. Are you sure that isn't what you're referring to? That was not BenM. If you supposedly knew someone was a multi, why didn't you say so?

Question, if I pull up bb logs of flogger saying he wants to quad crown this age and pull up logs fo flogger specifically saying he wants BB to be able to go for a crown and refusing all deals where BB was not able to go for the crown, then will you stop bringing up this bull**** over and over again and admit you've been trying to set people up against us under false claims?

Yes, BB wanted a YR2 cf to be able to stock and train up after their war. Emeriti wanted a longer cf and Leshrak thought it'd be a good diplomacy tactic to ask for a really long one so that if you agreed to an intermediate one it'd seem like youw eren't just giving Emeriti whatever they wanted. It's not how I do diplo, but many others often start high and then work to compromise.

Emeriti had already decided that a YR2 cf was bad for them and that fighting right away while BB was fat was much better. Fighting right away left Emeriti with 50-50 odds positioning wise, but Emeriti knew they were much better skill and activity wise than BB so the odds would be in their favor.

This is irrelevant. Why do you need 80% draft to farm a few lone provinces in a weak kingdom? It's obvious that the more time you got, the stronger you got. the only leverage bour had was to catch you early before you had the resources to be able to train to farm him. Even catching you early it is obvious that given time, you'd still be able to farm him. The later he caught you the easier this would be for you. even as it was, you rejected his offers of giving you back all land plus extra for a cf. So as it was, he still didn't catch you early enough. Stop acting stupid, this does not require any advanced understanding of utopia.

You just got the upper hand by having the strongest top alliance from age start to allow you to gb a lone kingdom with no top allies. When you start a deal break and gb with 2 of the top 3 kingdoms in your alliance vs a kd with none, of course you will have a big advantage.

Or played in kingdoms where others did. ASF, you and I talked about some of the old proxy server setups that were convenient and how nice it is that now we don't need them. Completely different world now than then, but all those proxy server setups were used not only for account trading as we all well know. It was so long ago I won't bother naming specific names because its in the past. I played with cheaters, you played with cheaters. I know for 100% certainty that some of the cheaters I played with later played for ABS kingdoms and later in CR.
