People can use other irc server different from abs/utonet if want. I have used different irc server in past for secure reasons. Still there is one main difference from utonet and abs. Utonet is official irc server for utopia. They cant risk making any lame move like it or every one is going to leave utonet and its kinda like game killing direct.
