We ended up crowning that age, but not by more than 20,000 acres.

Its more simply why would you want to let someone wave and withdraw when you can just withdraw before they wave, if gaining acres is your goal.
In that instance Pulse had been up by nearly 100k acres earlier in the war. We turned things around after some strategic changes, and started regaining. Pulse was smart to withdraw when they did (we had no intention of surrendering), but even smarter would have been to withdraw sooner. This again confirms what a huge advantage losing a war gives, since there is essentially no penalty for withdrawing and you get to choose your moment. If pulse hadn't lost that war they would not have crowned.

I believe you started the war around 160k acres or so. At no point did we have you down to 60k acres, thats absurd. (You never dipped below 100) and your lowest point was obviously our withdraw wave. (We didn't have you lower from chaining and then lose acres when we 4x max gained)

I'm saying in this case that the war was so close that it really did hinge on which side withdrew. Whichever side withdrew was going to be up acres. With that being true, the words "outplayed" and "farmed out" shouldn't be in play in regards to that conflict. As I said, BiO did well and they got what they wanted.

I don't know about that jdorje. I assume that they withdrew because they felt they were up as much as they could hope to be. Perhaps flogger is right and Rage would have withdrawn a few hours later up acres, although I believe proteus said Rage wasn't going to withdraw. Maybe BiO didn't believe that. Or maybe BiO was starting to lose the war and got out while they could get out ahead. I think only BiO really knows that answer.

lol? Rage would've withdrew 5 hours later and they STILL would've been down acres... considering we had our armies in before theirs. It was an exchange that cost us the ww for about 2k acres extra, that's all.

This is correct, and why I was kinda shocked you w/d. I'm all for w/d'ing up in acres but I think I trade 2k acres for a win vs rage. I think it was a mistake.

Interesting Simians/Sanc war. Alot less chaining on both sides than I'd expect. I would think that would bode well for Sanc.

Would bode well for sanc acre wise that is, if simians can FB to heck all of sancs provs with their elves/fearies then sanc would likely end up w/d'ing.

Getting a WW against Rage really has no value to us.. to some maybe, since they need the bragging rights. But we're fine with saying we lost the war to Rage. Half empty, half full. What's your cup of tea?
