The only reason Settlers gave that notice was to try to run from Emeriti because they knew they were coming for them. Noticing another kingdom does not and should not give you the right to be protected from someone you have no deal with. I don't care what the historical precedents are, thats just dumb. It is not like CR and Emeriti had an agreed war. Just because your notice date is coming up doesn't mean you have to fight them. Everyone has the RIGHT to choose who they fight and when, within reason. And you absolutely have the right to run if it's done in an appropriate way. No one can tell someone else who they have to fight until they've made an actual war deal. There was no war deal between the top 2 kds, just a date they could notice each other. I know everyone wants to see the 1 v 2 fight but if #2 doesn't think they stand a chance and wants to buy some time or get another war to improve their chances going forward, none of you have the right to tell them they cannot. I'm not saying everything was done appropriately by any of the 3 parties involved, but you still can't tell me or anyone else who I can and can't fight especially if someone doesn't follow through with diplo, which settlers did not. I can notice 100 kds at once and it means nothing till the notice is up.
