What makes you think that Sparta doesn't have a role to play in the power-struggle of the top kingdoms ? Personally I like having Sparta here at their current size. They're a pretty good filter layer against satellite KDs which could have allowed more **** play and be more disruptive than good. If you look at the charts now (as of today) I think you can agree that anyone above Sparta is pretty much 'competing' and those below them are 'not'.

I have no problems with them beating down other KDs to prevent warring KDs from suddenly getting too big and come into range to get significantly taxed by the top as I myself do not part-take in the practice of taxing warring KD for CF because I've been on the ghetto side and getting asked for uncontested acres is just gay as hell. Also, I do not think any growth KD would want to tax Sparta because of the potential FSU.

1) Prevent other KDs from coming into range to get taxed
2) Doesn't get taxed themselves
3) Encourage growth KD to compete by conflict once whorable acres dried out on the server
4) If Sparta sees an opportunity to go for the crown I am sure they will do it, but by then they'll be playing on the same field the others competing are; no more free CFs to hide behind and I welcome more competition any day.
